Sunday, September 6.
The Jonx world takeover begins!
With our third Austin show in less than one year. We’re playing at the Parlor on North Loop, 100 E North Loop Blvd. Our showmates will be Honey & Salt, the new Austin-based project from Austin-based Jonx drummer. . . um, me.
This is the first Honey & Salt show, so I can’t point you to any recordings or anything (although I guess you can look at our Facebook page if you really want to.) But I’ll tell you that it’s kind of a mathy indie rock band. The band is named after an album by the Blame Game, if that helps at all. I’d say if you like Polvo or Sweep the Leg Johnny or if maybe you wish At The Drive In was a little but wussier, you might dig us. The guitarist and songwriter, Wade Allen, used to be in the Quietest in Houston and the Kylie Factor in San Antonio.
Please note that this show will probably be over kinda early, like 10:30 or so.
Is there a flyer? Why yes there is.

Saturday, September 5.
Catch us with a couple of old-school- well, maybe more like middle-age-school- Houston misfit rock bands at Rudyard’s this Saturday. Probably $6 or so.
Novox features Kelsy from the Drunks and Childman and the great Bo Morris from Sprawl and a bunch of other bands. If you’re into crunchy ’90s indie rock- your Arcwelders, your Caustic Resins, your Naked Rayguns, your Overwhelming Colorfasts- you’ll dig them.
Bald Eagle Burger kinda have a Dicks/MDC political punk thing going on. It’s not just fun; it ’s the best possible antidote to the revolting debate over health care reform.
We’ll be playing some old beloved hits, as well as selections from the forthcoming Vocabularian Herds, which hopefully we will not have completetly worn out by the time it’s finished.
Got nothing particularly clever to say here. Good rock bands at Rudyard’s: that’s the deal.
Is there a flyer? No there is not. Sorry!

See us with three great little-known rock bands this weekend:
Novox and Bald Eagle Burger on Saturday in Houston;
Honey and Salt on Sunday in Austin!
And don’t forget, Monday is Labor Day, so you can go out and have fun on Sunday even if it’s normally a school night.
More exciting news tomorrow. Ish.

At the Mink, 3714 Main St. at Alabama, next to the Continental Club.
500 Megatons is Erik and Johnny from the Squishees. You should know this by now. I’m guessing they are about ready to do their second record, which I am stoked about. Face-punchin’ punk rock fun.
10-4 Eleanor is on tour from Fort Collins, CO. They sound a little like the pop-punk bands you used to go see when you were in high school- innocent, sloppy and fun. It’s gonna be great!
